We had a pretty good drive to OK. The TX Sky was pretty yucky as we headed out yesterday morning.
And, the wind was pretty strong. Mr C has been checking the mpg along the way, and we’ve been averaging about 12.5 mpg; not bad considering the mountains we’ve been driving through and pulling a 39 ft fifth wheel. 🤷🏻♀️. But, with the head winds we had through TX & OK, we dropped to 8.5 mpg. 🤦🏻♀️. Hopefully, today’s ride to Little Rock, AR will be calmer.
I did take some pics along the way, though.
I don’t remember if I posted about “Cadillac Ranch” , but when we left Amarillo, we passed the “Slug bug Ranch”
Here’s info on “Cadillac Ranch”
Here’s the “Slug Bug Ranch” we passed

Gotta love it! Old Route 66 must’ve been an awesome ride back in the day. 😉👍
Can you believe there’s a barbed wire museum called “Devils Rope”
How about this billboard:
We didn’t know we crossed into OK until we noticed it in the gps. 🤦🏻♀️ No welcome sign?
Here’s a shot of the rest area though
I’ve never realized how many Native American tribes there are until driving through OK. (And, the terrible history through the Trail of Tears)
Did you know Woody Guthrie was from OK?
And, of course, Garth Brooks is from Yukon, OK
And, Astronaut Thomas Stafford
I don’t know how much they paid for this artwork, but it sure made you look!
We found the Passport America campground ($25 full hookup) for the night, not bad with a small yard for the girls. We didn’t unhook the truck, so, easy hotdog dinner after naptime. Did I mention Mr Charley made his Chocolate Mounds Bar cake? 🥴 yes, it’s awesome!
Moving on to AR today, a little closer to home.
Have a good one everybody, we’re sure trying to.
