06/17/2019 Day 8 Air Force Academy famcamp -CO

We arrived in Colorado Springs safe & sound, before the rain started. The setup was smooth (forgot to mention when we left St Joe when pulling up the jacks the bolt broke that controlled the arm, but Mr C got it fixed). It sure is nice when you pusha button and it works! The only bad here is the trees & Mr Charley’s satellite. We have my Mifi, a fire stick & options but it still causes more aggravation than it’s worth. I listen to my books, play games on my kindle or crochet. Life is simple in my world.(Lol) 

Just a few tidbits from the ride through KS to CO.  With all the Buffalo Bill stuff we’ve seen out west, I had no idea KS had ahistory with him, too. Oakley KS has a sculpture, check this out:

Have I mentioned the Time Zone changes we’ve hit? We’re now in Mountain Timewhich is 1 hour behind Central Time which is 1 hour behind Eastern Standard Time 

This explains why we get in earlier than we plan; why we’re so tired so early in the evening; and ..... why we wake up even earlier than normal. 

Did you know the last stretch of KS into CO has a place called Kanorado 

Check this out! There’s a place in CO that has posted FREE LAND. 

There’s a place in Peyton CO called “Popa Top Saloon” 

And, last but not least I need to tell you about the guy riding by honking at us, holding up his CLEMSON Yeti cup giving MrC a “thumbs up”. What was funny is he had a GAMECOCK sticker on the car he was riding in! 

That’s it for now. Today we have some errands to run & hang out here. We’re planning a Pikes Peak trip so Mr C can get a new coffee cup (he broke his & I won’t let him take mine). We also plan on going back to Juniper Valley Ranch for the best fried chicken & homemade fixins you’ve ever had!
