GOAL: Yosemite NP and whatever else we can find.
Yesterday was a pretty awesome ride!
We made it Lake Tahoe and Echo Lake.
Now I know why my baby girl loves to go there, it’s really pretty.
It was a pretty ride through the mountains.
We meandered back down and through to Carson City.
(Didn’t get a good pic of the Capital bldg,so I Googled it☺️)
We drove through the little town of Genoa, founded in 1851, was the first settlement in what became the Nevada territory. Population today is 939.
We drove past The Bentley Ranch, a 50,000 acre ranch & distillery located in the Carson Valley,at the base of the Sierra Nevada.
We drove Hwy 88/89 through Luther Pass, a mountain pass between the Carson River Basin and Lake Tahoe.
And....,we drove through Mound House, NV. One of eight counties that allow for legal prostitution 😲 and home of the Bunny Ranch (owned by Dennis Huf before hisdeath)
Then we turned to go to Virginia City.
Remember “Bonanza” and Little Joe, Hoss, Adam & Ben Cartwright?
Yes, that Virginia City and the gold mining country.
This would be a really cool little town to explore.
Then, we went down through Six Mile Canyon Road
I can’t imagine riding a horse or a stage coach down through some of the mountain passes we’ve ridden.
Then we stopped for a picnic lunch down in the valley.
The girls like the shade under the truck 😂
It was a nice view, though
Then back on Hwy 50 heading back to Reno and Sparks for naptime!
So, today we head to Hawthorne, NV as we follow the NV/CA line bringing us a little closer to Vegas.
Have a good one everybody, we’re sure trying to.
