The campground we’re staying in is situated in the back of a National Wildlife refuge, and though It seems pretty remote, in reality it’s less than 5 miles to downtown Lincoln City and the beach.
I was so happy Mr Charley’s satellite worked I didn’t even think about cell phone or internet access. I am one with my phone (as my baby girl used to say) and I promised my girls I will stay in touch, so Mr Charley & I decided to change our plans.
We were supposed to stay here 7nights, leaving Wednesday, but decided we’ll leave Sunday instead. Thank goodness this campground is understanding to the issue and refunded our money. And, after sitting in McDonalds parking lot for over an hour, we finally found a place in Salem that had a site for 3 nights. Salem puts us halfway back to Portland area for Mr Charley’s eyeshot.
With that solved, we spent the rest of the morning driving the coastline to Depoe Bay. Coming from both FL and SC, beach towns are beach towns. The Oregon beach towns are not as crowded as the east coast, but they are crowded. They may not have as many high rise hotels, but they do have them, and condos, apartments and houses. Since we had the girls with us, we decided we’ll hit the shops today and leave the girls home.
We did find a nice seafood restaurant on the water and went out for some awesome grilled salmon! Mr Charley brought his computer and Kindle, so parked by the beach so he could download a new bookand handle some business. I caught up with emails and Facebook, and posted a pic of the view. (Couldn’t help it )
Here’s some pics of yesterday’s adventure.
