Let me tell you, if I thought Seattle traffic was rough, getting through Portland was AWFUL! God Bless Mr Charley for handling that mess so good. It took hours to wind around the bumper to bumper road construction mess on I5! Lord, I hope we can find a different route around that when we have to head back for his eye shot.
We finally found the campground, after riding through the “beach towns” along the coast, our reservations were with a “secluded” campground where “full hookups” mean 30 amps and water. There is an on-site dump station, phone service is sketchy but the good news is Mr Charley’s satellite works! Thank God! With no good internet, there’s no way I could’ve handled him without satellite, too! 🤦🏻♀️
Our site is good size, big grassy field with picnic table, not crowded so the girls are happy to roll around and roam. They claim deer & elk “freely wander through”, so I’m keeping my eyes peeled. I’m not sure if we’ll actually stay here for the 7 nights we booked, we’ll drive around today & see if any other places have vacancies. I can’t believe how FULL they all are!
We’re only 8 miles from Depoe Bay, which is one of the places the fella in Cody told us about, and we’re right along the OR coastline, so there’s lots of cool little beach towns to wander through, and hopefully to find a GOOD seafood restaurant!

Once we got through the mess, the rest of the ride was wandering through “farm country” and lots of vineyards. I didn’t realize so much wine came from OR! I don’t drink wine anymore for personal reasons,but I know a lot of folks that would love to stop in and do some “tastings” 😂😂
