Thankfully, it’s a beautiful sunny day, which really helps my achy body get through the chores.
Yesterday, although it started out yucky foggy, it cleared up so we could take a nice drive.
I found a cool map in the office :
So, off we went, heading to Seaview & Long Beach, through Astoria, Chinook, Grays River and all kind of little towns following the Pacific Coast Scenic Byway and the Lewis & Clark Trail.
There is no shortage of trees in WA, no matter how much logging they do. You wouldn’t believe how many logging places we pass by! There’s also a lot of places that mark when trees are planted to replace those cut.
Almost all of the smoke stacks we see are logging company kilns drying out the cut logs.
Here’s some pics of our ride:
(Welcome to Oregon)
We also took a detour to see the last covered bridge in WA State.
We went over (or through 🤷🏻♀️)
There was a turnaround spot by the river,so we went turned around & headed back.
All in all, it was a pretty nice ride. And, we even had a nice sunset!
And, since we finished the blackberry cobbler I made, I picked some more along the way. There are literally MILLIONS of wild blackberries just waiting for someone to pick them.
We head out tomorrow for Phoenix, OR as we make our way down to CA,but today I’m going to enjoy this sunshine (even if I do have to do the laundry)
Have a good one everybody, we’re sure trying to.
