It was very moving yesterday when we went to the commissary and saw a 9/11 remembrance as we passed by.
It’s 6:30 am here & they’re playing revelry (as if we haven’t been up for hours π€¦π»♀️)
It’s a pleasant morning, the best time of day to be outside. The girls like it.
We went to see “Vegas the Show” the other night. Our last show while we’re here.It was pretty good. There was one girl that could belt out a song! She did a great Tina Turner rendition (Rollin’ on the River) and a Gladys Knight (Leavin’ on the midnight train). The rest of the show was entertaining, the singers and dancers were good. I don’t think the original Vegas showgirls had “wedgies”, I figure back then a regular “one piece” served the purpose, but who am I to judge? π€·π»♀️
At least these young people are working and not selling palm fron flowers while sitting on a blanket down Fremont St.
Yes, we had to do the Fremont St experience. Our last Vegas hoorah!
Remember when I said how they “cleaned up” the Vegas strip and there wasn’t a bunch of “street people” approaching us? Well, I think they just moved them down to Fremont St. π€¦π»♀️
It’s only a few blocks walk, and there are lots of shops and restaurants and bars as you go. There’s also lots of entertainment as you walk. Vegas “showgirls” in their feathers and boots hitting you up to have your picture made with them. A cowboy and his guitar belting out some good country songs with a tip bucket. An “older” fella, standing in his “fruit of the looms” ready to have a picture with him. (No, they weren’t tightie whites, that would’ve covered more π₯΄) And, of course all the palm fron flower makers. Overhead was the “Slotzilla” zip line.
Needless to say, Vegas has a little bit of EVERYTHING for everyone. It surprised me to see so many people pushing their babies with young ones in tow, down thestreets and through the casinos.
“Bless their hearts”
We ate a nice lunch and headed home in time for a nap. (The plus of getting out before the crowds wake up ππ)
More artwork on the way back
And a cool sticker on the back of this dump truck:
And, it’s 9/12, so a little reminder
Pray for Mr Charley’s eye shot. I can’t remember if he liked this place last time wewere here, but I’m writing notes in case he gets back here again.
Have a good one everybody, we’re sure trying to.
