08/27/2019 Day 79 Death Valley National Park, NV

Today we go to Death Valley Natl Park.
Yes, it is hot! Thank God for the breeze and air conditioning! And....if it gets too bad, the Platinum has air conditioned seats πŸ˜‰πŸ‘

But first, let me share some pics of the drive here. We road straight down US-95S smack dab through the middle of nowhere NV!

So, we’re in the middle of nowhere and we come to an old, small town called Silver Peak.  Look what I found out they were mining here! LITHIUM! You know the stuff  for all the batteries we need.

Nevada's Silver Peak Lithium Mine Prepares To Ramp Up Production

Anyone who uses a smart phone, tablet, cordless power tool, or even an electric car knows the device would not operate without its battery.  The popularity of these gadgets is a big reason for the growth of the lithium industry.

The only active lithium mine in North America is in Silver Peak, Nevada.  The tiny Esmerelda County town is about 30 miles west of Goldfield.  Albemarle extracts the area's lithium through the groundwater.

Did you read that! The ONLY active lithium mine in North America is in Silver Peak, NV! Who knew?🀷🏻‍♀️

And...not far after seeing a sign that looked like a burro (instead of the horse or bull signs)
I saw these! Yep, wild burros!

Then once we landed, we were chilling in the camper and look what walked by outside the window!

Three of them. 🀷🏻‍♀️

Later we drove around town (all 3 blocks of itπŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚) and there were a few more on the corner.  They’re everywhere!

Here’s some pics from the drive around town:

The campground is OK. No grass, but 50 amp, so the A/C’s are blasting, satellite works, WIFI is pretty good, and....there’s a pool at the Inn we have access to!

No telling what we’ll see today, but it’s gonna be cool, even if the temp is in the 100’s.

Have a good one everybody, we’re sure trying to.
