We did have a nice ride yesterday, though in spite of the weather!
We drove US-30, aka “Historic Columbia River Highway”.

And it was a beautiful drive!First stop was the Vista House
He had a pretty cool idea back in 1917! I can’t imagine traveling that road in anything other than Mr C’s F350 Platinum! I’ll bet those folks really appreciated a place to stop & rest.
The next stops along the way we’re various waterfalls, the biggest was Multnomah Falls. This place was mentioned in one of my favorite books,“The Shack”. It was awesome! Unfortunately, my “gimpy” foot doesn’t let me doa lot of walking (or climbing) so I hadto admire it from afar, but that’s alright, I got to see it all!
Of course, Google has a nicer pic:
“The girls” are always a hit when we stop. Here they are “spreading the love” & making folks smile. I can’t tell you how many people come up to us wanting to pet them (even more than “Clemson” fans) The girls love the attention, I think they miss the grandkids back home.
There were lots of other falls along the way. Bridal Veil ( they were even having a wedding at the Lodge acrossthe street), Wahkeena Falls, Shepherds Dell, Latourell Falls and Horsetail Falls, to name a few.
Here’s some pics from the rest of the drive:
It was a good ride. We got back earlyenough to chill out the rest of the day.
It was a special day for me, I got to talk to my babies ☺️. And, I got a littleFaceTime visit with my sweet great-grand! Guess I’m like “the girls”, I miss the kids, too.
Today, we’re thinking of going to Mt St. Helens, since it’s not too far. I do see some blue skycoming through, so it might be a nice drive after all!
Poor Mr C will be “cooking” all day (so he says as he puts the roast in the crockpot🤦🏻♀️)
Have a good one everybody, we’re sure trying to.
