10/04/2019 Day 117 head to HOME to SC

Today we’ll drive the last leg of this “Greater Adventure”. Home to Blythewood, SC, Mr Charley’s “Home Base”. Once I get to my car & visit with my babies , I’ll get to my “Home Base” in FL. 

 This is the hardest part for me since I have to pack up all my stuff, load up my car, drive 8 hours to Fl, unload & check out my rig that’s been sitting for months.   

Thank God for my dear FL friends keeping watch over my place. ❤️

It’s been a good trip. 

Over 13,000 miles (avg 11.9 mpg). 

Traveled 19 States, through all 4 US Time Zones. 

Been to the furthest NW corner of the US(Cape Flattery, WA). 

Been to the lowest below sea level point of the US (Death Valley). 

We’ve seen some awesome sights:

Lavender fields in WA

Numerous Waterfalls and Mountain Ranges

Beautiful Lakes and west coast shorelines 

And.....,, Meteor Craters, Painted Desert, corner artwork in cities, Vegas Shows. 

Got to “stand on the corner” in Winslow, AZ Went to Hoover Dam (again!). Went to Cody,WY (again!)Went to Yellowstone (again!) 
Got to stay in campgrounds on military bases, in 4 different States. Got to ride the renowned Durango to Silverton steam engine train. 
And........visited 8 National Parks!  Did you know there are 61 National Parksin the US? I’ve been to 25 of them! (28 if you add 3 from FL, but they weren’t “National Parks” when I was a kid. My baby girl said I don’t need to go back to Miami & I should count them anyway.  I ❤️ that girl! ☺️
Day 117 of this adventure. 117 sunrises. 116 sunsets (so far). We cut it short, but honestly can’t handle more. 
I’m blessed, Thank You, Lord. 
I hope y’all have enjoyed the ride as much as I have. Thank You, Mr Charley for letting me ride along ( and not kicking me out or ticked me off enough to fly home 😂)

10/03/2019 Day 116 head to Raccoon Valley RV in Heiskell TN

Today we head back to where we started on this “Greater Adventure”.  

Mr Charley said he’s “traveled out”. We’ve seen & done enough until next trip, but that’s another story. 

So goodbye Nashville, and Grand Ole RVPark.

10/02/2019 Day 115 in Goodlettsville TN

Today is a day of rest 😉👍 

  

Yesterday we had a long 350+ miles from AR to TN.  It was thankfully uneventful, and we took our time making stops along the way to stretch and let the girls out. They are so happy to be back in the “south”  where there’s grass to waller in. 😂😂

GOD BLESS TRUCKERS!! And, Thank God for truck stops. 

If you’ve ever maneuvered a big rig (truck with a 5th wheel, Class A with tow, or an 18 wheeler) through a truck stop God Bless you!  It’s crazy chaos! Especially trying to maneuver “the girls” for their walk. 

We safely landed at Grand Ole RV Park, on the corner of Welcome Ln and Blessed Hwy.

Tonight is Taco Tuesday here, so Mr Charley got a night off from cooking. And, they had live music on the back patio while we ate. 😀 

So, today is chill day, tomorrow is the last stop before we hit SC. It’s been a heck of a ride and I’m so blessed to be a part of it. ☺️

10/01/2019 Day 114 head to Grand Ol’ RV Park in Goodlettsville TN

We’re heading out this morning going back to the Grand Ol’ RV Park. We stayed here on our first trip (The Great Adventure back in 2014). Its under new management and doesn’t have the free shuttle to Nashville anymore, but that’s OK, we’ll only be there 2 nights. 

Yesterday, we drove from OK to AR. The ride was relatively boring. It’s definitely “greener” in AR, but not much to see. Not even a lot of signs to read & things to Google. But........I have a few! 😂😂

We have no idea what the “18ft 1in” yellow block is. It just appeared 🤷🏻‍♀️. It would be nice if it was the height of the upcoming overpass, but there wasn’t an up coming overpass. (It would’ve really come in handy when we were in CA & actually stopped traffic so we could back up & turn around because of a low overpass). Anyway, I Googled trying to find out if the Ford Sync has a height option that we may have accidentally hit, but couldn’t find anything. If anyone knows, please let me know. Once we made the turn, it disappeared and haven’t seen it again. 🤷🏻‍♀️

We safely landed at the campground, not much grass in the yard, but it’s only 1 night 

We have a longer drive today, about 350 miles, but it’s all interstate & we’ll take our time & stop along the way. Two night stay over, so I’ll get the laundry caught up & we’ll replenish supplies so when Mr Charley lands home Friday he’ll be set.

09/30/2019 Day 113 head to Downtown Riverside RV in Little Rock AR

Goodbye OK, hello AR as we make our way back to “our side of the world”. 

We had a pretty good drive to OK. The TX Sky was pretty yucky as we headed out yesterday morning. 

And, the wind was pretty strong. Mr C has been checking the mpg along the way, and we’ve been averaging about 12.5 mpg; not bad considering the mountains we’ve been driving through and pulling a 39 ft fifth wheel. 🤷🏻‍♀️. But, with the head winds we had through TX & OK, we dropped to 8.5 mpg. 🤦🏻‍♀️. Hopefully, today’s ride to Little Rock, AR will be calmer. 

I did take some pics along the way, though. 

I don’t remember if I posted about “Cadillac Ranch” , but when we left Amarillo, we passed the “Slug bug Ranch”

I don’t know how much they paid for this artwork, but it sure made you look! 

We found the Passport America campground ($25 full hookup) for the night, not bad with a small yard for the girls. We didn’t unhook the truck, so, easy hotdog dinner  after naptime. Did I mention Mr Charley made his Chocolate Mounds Bar cake? 🥴 yes, it’s awesome! 

Moving on to AR today, a little closer to home.
