It’s Thursday and we’re in Colorado Springs, CO! Look what was out my window this morning!

He never ceases to amaze me. I haven’t seen a good sunrise or sunset for awhile, so Thank You, Lord. You made the start of my day beautiful.
We’ve been hanging low the last few days. Yesterday I got the laundry done, did some cleaning and just took it easy. My foot seems to be getting better, but I’ve really been trying to keep it “extra happy” so my nerve damage doesn’t get aggravated.
Guess where we’re going this morning?!?!?!? We have reservations to drive The Mount Evans Scenic Byway!! Its been closed for construction for YEARS! Every time we’ve come to CO, it was under construction and they just opened it! (The main reason we came to CO again) So, I did a “cut and paste” from Wikipedia to explain it : The Mount Evans Scenic Byway is a 49-mile (79 km) National Forest Scenic Byway and Colorado Scenic and Historic Byway located in Clear Creek and Jefferson counties, Colorado, United States. The byway ascends to 14,140 feet (4,310 m) of elevation near the 14,271-foot (4,350 m) summit of Mount Evans, making it the highest paved road in North America (beating the 14,115-foot (4,302 m) Pikes Peak Highway by only 25 feet (8 m).) The byway visits Echo Lake Park, the Mount Goliath Natural Area, the Dos Chappell Nature Center, and Summit Lake Park on its way to the summit. A fee is charged to travel State Highway 5 to the summit and vehicles over 30 feet (9.1 m) long are not allowed, although they are allowed on State Highway 103 which reaches its highest elevation of 11,020 feet (3,359 m) at Juniper Pass. Did you see that!?! The highest paved road in North America! Higher than Pikes Pesk, Beartooth Pass and all the other beautiful, mountain drives we’ve taken. I saw this post and had to save it.
So, today I will choose “happy”. And, I’ll pray for Hawaii during these wildfires they’re having. I was blessed to go to HI many years ago. It’s another beautiful state in our wonderful country. I’m so happy I was able to experience the awe of this place. I can’t imagine the devastation going on now. I hope you’ll join me in prayer for Hawaii.
Have a good one everybody.
