06/18/ 2023 -Day 3 Pigeon Forge TN Creekside RV Park

It’s Fathers Day Sunday in TN https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1XgQZrcLj7OazDfCXnb6F2Y9lIB1iB3JE

My Dad left when I was young, so we didn’t have the best relationship. But later in life, we “made our peace” and I was able to spend some quality time with him. And later, I had the privilege of caring for him during his numerous hospital stays and rehab time. Fathers Day was always hard for me since none of those sweet mushy cards ever felt right. But I do miss him now. I miss his “words of wisdom” and his music. So if you still have your Dad, make peace and give him a hug before it’s too late.

Yesterday, we started our day with a wonderful breakfast of bacon, eggs, grits and biscuits with blackstrap molasses. Mr Charley makes a pretty good breakfast.

It was a beautiful day and we just sat outside
enjoying it. Sometimes you just need to rest and enjoy the beauty of our world.

One thing about RV life, is all the different people you meet. Our new neighbors next door are from Miami! My hometown. And the couple walking by have their little one in a remote controlled Jeep! I guess those little cars kids “drive” can be remotely controlled!?! Who knew? Then the folks across from us decided to let Grandpa hold the little one on his lap as he drove his scooter chair.  This campground is nice, clean, quiet and family friendly (unlike Myrtle Beach chaos). This is family camping where it’s safe to let your kids out to ride their bikes and explore the creek. Nightly campfires, s’mores and lightning bugs.

The day ended with Mr Charleys famous grilled pork chops. The girls are happy to rest and watch the birds (and squirrels). Another beautiful day in the mountains, by a creek. Who needs to go anywhere else?
We’ll see what today brings. We’ve talked about taking a drive, but since it’s Fathers Day, I’ll let Mr Charley decide if he’s up to it. It’s supposed to be another pretty day, so we’ll see.

Have a good one everybody.
