It’s Sunday and we’re in Cody, WY! And….. some of our babies are here!

Before the kids got in, we had some errands to run since we just landed Friday. First stop, I had Mr C take me to the ER here in Cody. My foot was still pretty swollen and bruised and I needed to get some kind of walking boot. So here’s some pics of before and after.

Believe it or not the swollen ankle is normal for my bum foot, but the top of my foot is where the pain is. When I slipped off the bottom step onto the ground, my foot turned onto itself, so yes I do have a break. But…,,it’s a “good break” according to the Dr. The 5th metatarsal fracture allows me to “walk” as long as I have a hard, flat bottom “shoe” (and my walking stick). I couldn’t handle that big walking boot (it’s too heavy) and my bum foot nerve damage wouldn’t allow me to heave that thing around. I’m thankful I can walk with this “shoe”. I’m thankful my nerve damage hasn’t acted up. And…I’m thankful although my ankle is sore, I didn’t cause any more damage to it. More than anything I’m thankful we were here in Cody, Wy when it happened. The hospital staff was friendly, efficient and kind. We are so blessed to be able to get medical help. Please pray my right knee/hip hold up through this, because I already put a heck of a strain on them “normally”.

On a good note, our babies got here !!! We got back from the hospital, Mr C was able to run some other errands and we were done in plenty of time to drive to Billings, MT and get them from the airport. It’s a long drive, and by the time we got back to Cody and got the kids unpacked and settled it was time to get ready for the Cody Cattle Company Trifecta! (Dinner/Show and Rodeo). This is my #1 daughter, Nicole and my great granddaughter, Braelyn ready to go.

This is Mr Charleys #1 granddaughter, Morgan.
And, Braelyn was invited on stage to “wave the flag” during the Patriotic Tribute.

(You can’t hardly see her, but that’s her flag in the far back right). Oh well, she was excited. After the show we rode over to the rodeo.

They had all the kids go down and they let 2 calves out with a red rag tied to their tail. Whoever “caught” the tail won. Brae didn’t catch it (it was chaos out there) but she got to run around down in the Cody Rodeo arena! LOL! Thank God she had her boots on!
I had to get a shot of the “sunset”

It was 10:00 pm by the time we got back and we were all whipped. (I don’t think we’ve stayed up that late since we left on this trip!). We were all feeling that 2 hour MDT time change from EST. We all decided instead of getting up early and driving to Yellowstone, we’d take the kids to downtown Cody and let them “shop” and wander around on their own (since neither of us can walk very far). That’s it for now.

Have a good one everybody.
