It’s Monday and we’re leaving Cheyenne, WY and making our way to Colorado Springs, CO!

So……we safely arrived at Peregrine Pines FamCamp at the USAF Academy in Colorado Springs, CO. I didn’t take a lot of pics mainly because I had a major freak out on the way here.
We stopped at a Loves truck stop to get some fuel. (Our Open Roads account lets us fuel up at the truckers pumps with a discount). After we fueled up, Mr C pulled around and I hobbled in (walking pretty good w/my new walking boot) and got him some coffee. I paid cash, had my wallet in my right back pocket, my phone in my left back pocket and made my way out. The first thing I generally do (once I get in) is put my phone in the side compartment in the truck door, and put my wallet back in my purse. Well we got on down the road and I saw my front compartment of my purse was open, but my wallet WAS NOT IN THERE!!
I was freaking out! “Phone, wallet, keys” is my mantra. If I lose my wallet I am totally screwed! Especially since I can’t get on base without my ID (and of course my cards are in there). Well, I called the Loves we had gone to, they said no one had turned in a wallet. I searched everywhere in the truck (in case it fell out of my pocket) and called Loves back, left them with my name and number and did some major praying. (By this time we were over 50 miles away). Mr C is the coolest, calmest driver making his way off I-25 to find a place to park so we can do a good search.
Mr C saved the day (again). While I’m searching under the truck seats, in the door compartments and praying all along, Mr C looked in the other zippered compartment in my purse and FOUND MY WALLET!!! I don’t know how it got in that closed zipped section, when the one I usually put it in was still open. All I can say is THANK YOU, LORD! You put that wallet there and told Mr C to look in there. Mr C has NEVER looked in my purse (even when I tell him to).
After I got my blood pressure back down, we continued on to Colorado Springs. This means Mr C had to drive through Denver traffic (even though it’s not rush hour) it’s still a mess. They do like Atlanta and have red/green lights allowing one car at a time to enter the interstate. It’s 2 lanes to enter, but we’re in a big truck pulling a 5th wheel in the right lane, and another car entering on the left side. Of course, these 2 lanes merge into 1 once you get on. And…..of course the next 2 available cars have already gotten through their red/green light. And NO ONE wants to let a truck pulling an RV in front of them. So, sometimes Mr C has to just pull out and trust the fools to let us in or they’ll be hitting us. People are so rude. Or as Mr C says “people are a$$holes”. So, we made our way to the FamCamp in Colorado Springs. Along the way, I called Juniper Valley Ranch to make reservations for dinner this Friday night. (You need to Google this place, it is fantastic!)

We arrived safe and sound, got set up relatively easy and kicked back for a while. Mr C made us a fantastic meal. Fried chicken strips, rice and gravy, Lima beans, biscuits and cranberry sauce. Yummy! And, tomorrow’s a new day to get set up (groceries, etc ) and decide where we wanna go first. (Pikes Peak,Garden of the gods, Royal Gorge) We have reservations to drive Mt Evans summit on 8/10. We’re so blessed to be able to do this. That’s it for now.
Have a good one everybody.
