It’s Saturday and we’re in Cody, WY! And….. some of our babies are flying in today!

Let me tell you about yesterday. We had a long drive from ND to WY. About 382 miles. We left at 6:00 a.m. (MDT) and the drive (thankfully) wasn’t a hard one.
Our last sunrise in ND
Let me explain about MDT time zone; our bodies are still in EST zone. MDT is 2 HOURS behind EST. So, when we get up “naturally” at 5:30 it’s really 3:30 here!
(Sorry for the pic, I cropped it but Google content) So here’s some pics from our ride here:
Goodbye ND
Hello MT!
This is the Yellowstone River
“Bad Route Road” LOL!
I love how the rest stops have interesting info about the place. This explains how awesome the Yellowstone River is to Montana Of course, “the girls” had to check it out (and pee)
An old bridge across the Yellowstone (before I-94 I guess)

I ALWAYS look when I see these signs!

Mr Charley remembered that Pompey’s Pillar is monumental because William Clark (of the Lewis & Clark expedition) actually “signed” (carved) his name to mark that he was there. Future pioneers also “signed” theirs. Google it! We’ve traveled along the Lewis & Clark “trail” in many states. It’s a pretty interesting story of their travels. (I don’t remember much of my history classes, but thankfully there are signs, historical markers and “Google” to help us all remember our history. It’s not all good (Trail of Tears) but it is there for us to see our Freedom wasn’t Free.
Here’s some more pics of our ride. See the mountains in the far distance? (A little Snow topped) One is “Beartooth Mountain” (we’ll be driving up there with the kids this week).
Here’s info posted of The Pryor Mountains
Had to look up how Bridger, MT got its name.
This is the Route we drove after getting if I-94/I-90
Another Mountain in the distance is Heart Mountain. This was a relocation internment for Japanese Americans back in the war.
I missed the Welcome to Wyoming sign, but here’s some pics of Wy.

I don’t know if you can see in the fields, but there’s some pronghorn out there! See the head with black antlers?

We landed safely at Absaroka Bay RV Park. I had a “little accident” coming down the steps. I sprained, bruised (hopefully didn’t break anything) my BAD ANKLE! (Tears). I’m hobbling, have it wrapped, and praying I can function when the kids get in. We’re driving to Billings, MT (about 106 miles one way) to pick them up. We have trifecta tickets for tonight’s Cody dinner/show and rodeo!!! (I hope I can get my boot on) Pray for our babies to have a safe flight here (they left Charlotte this morning). Pray for Mr Charleys breathing (the altitude is getting him a bit). Pray my foot will calm down enough so I can walk. Here’s a pic of this mornings sunrise through our window.

Have a good one everybody, we’re sure trying to.
