It’s Saturday and we’re in MICHIGAN!

Yesterdays drive was tense! Do you see ANY LIGHTS ON!?!?! I don’t see how anyone can drive through fog/smoke or whatever and not see the need to turn their lights on!
Did you know there’s a 2 Mile Rd, 3 Mile Rd, 12 Mile Rd, 13 Mile Rd, 23 Mile Rd, etc. I’d get so lost trying to remember which one I wanted!

We stopped at a rest area for an early lunch and I saw this :
Here’s a few other pics along the way:

(I had to Google/screenshot a couple things ‘cause I couldn’t get good pic by the time we drove by )

Remember H-O-M-E-S to learn the Great Lakes?!?! We crossed over Lake Huron on the Mackinac Bridge! It cost $8 to drive over in the truck pulling the 5th wheel! Geez! Here’s some pics:

Driving over that bridge wasn’t as bad as I thought. The bridges in Charleston and Jacksonville are a little more daunting I think.
We finally found the campground. GPS took us down a long dirt road around the small airport and when we circled back around we found out we could’ve stayed on the main road and gone up a few “blocks” and turned right to it! Even Google Maps showed a different way. Oh well, we landed safely, got set up in our site and chilled the rest of the day. We left at 6:00, got here and set up by 1:30. The sites here aren’t too bad, mostly gravel and some grass. Our rig fits fine, but since Mr C’s truck is so long, we parked it on the side so he doesn’t have to worry about it being in the way for our “neighbors” as they try to park. We only have water/electric hookups since they were booked solid for the 4th of July weekend, but $42 a night isn’t bad and with Mr C military discount we saved $44.10 off the total. There’s a lot of tent campers here and plenty of campfires going, so we’ll see how the smokiness affects our outside time. The campground actually has a shuttle to get to the Ferry over to Mackinac Island, so we’ll see when we want to go. We’re supposed to meet up with Debbie for dinner tonight, her grandson is supposed to be coming in, so I know she’s excited. That’s it for now, we slept like logs last night and today is a fresh start to a new adventure!

Have a good one everybody!
