I also got hooked up with this cool software that will allow me to write up the blog offline & then post once we get wi-fi. So please bear with me as I try to learn these new settings. (I worked on a computer for 38 yrs & swore I wasn't going to mess with one when I retired)
AND…… I also learned today that using my phone as a mobile hotspot is better than using my mifi, (which in reality is a useless add-on to my account & I will take care of that when I get back). Its times like these that I really miss my grandkids, since they know this stuff so much easier than I do, but special thanks to Stacey for mentioning it to her Dad!
When we reserved our site at Liard Hot Springs Provincial Park, we didn’t realize there were NO hookups, so this was true “boon docking” (dry camping) at its best. We had plenty of propane, and, with the new inverter/converter & batteries we bought in Florida & a pretty full fresh water tank, we knew we would be OK. The main thing was on these quick 1-2 night stays, we didn’t always hookup, drain & fill-up, so we used the park “bathrooms” which weren’t always “pleasant”. Also, when our jacks messed up in Calgary, when they fixed them they said we needed another part (“main computer system”?) so, until we get that, we can only use the remote (battery operated). Well, long story short, our wonderful RV Tech in SC knew what we needed, got it ordered & will ship it to us once it came in. Well, with no cell service, we didn’t know if it came in yet, nor how long it will take to get here, since we really don’t know where we’ll be. LOL! Anyway, we needed to get things in the works, which is why we left Liard Hot Springs a day early & headed up to Watson Lake. (More on that ride on the next blog).
On the ride to Liard, we saw some wildlife, lots of long winding road & some beautiful mountains winding with the rivers. I have some pics!
This will be my first attempt putting this together offline first, then uploading using my cell phone as a hotspot. Lord help me!
I don’t know how to write a comment on the pics yet, but enjoy them anyway!
Have a good one everybody! Have a great Memorial Day weekend, and we’ll keep trucking on. Just a few more days & we’ll make it to Alaska!
RV Riding is meeting all kinds of great folks and learning as you go
I thought the hotspot may be a better route. Glad you asked about it. Can't wait to hear more about that and all of your adventures!
ReplyDeleteDidn't like the "out of touch" time from you guys. I almost sent something to Nicole worried!
I'm so glad you guys made it!! And, really surprised you guys aren't geocaching yet?! You would find SO many things in your travels! Be safe and take lots of pics.
ReplyDeleteWow! I haven't done any Geocaching in years 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
DeleteI'll have to check if I even have that app anymore. Be sure to show Rhythm these posts, I' haven't done any postcards this trip 🤷♀️ 😘😘
