The end to the beginning

Can you believe it! We've traveled over 2800 miles to begin this Grand Adventure to Alaska. I have to admit, its been a little overwhelming some days. The last time we came out this way we traveled a day or 2 and stayed a few days, sometime a whole  month! This time we seem to be racing to get "there", but "there" is still a month away. Tomorrow we plan on crossing over the border into Canada, then the adventure begins!

Sunday, as we made our way from Sheridan, WY to Bozeman, MT we  ran along the Yellowstone River, it was really pretty. We also stopped along the way at the Little Bighorn Battlefield.
Here's some pics I took :

I'm not going too deep here, but if you Google Garryowen, Montana, you'll see the story about how the town got its name & how it relates to the Battle of Little Big Horn. There were hundreds of those white markers depicting each site a soldier was fallen.

Today (Tuesday) we left Bozeman, MT heading to Shelby, MT. It was cold this morning, down in the 30's, but believe it or not it wasn't bad until the wind picked up. As time went by and we were coming down the mountain, the fog from the river was so thick we  couldn't see very far ahead so we dropped our speed, turned on the flashers & continued on. Once we got  through the fog, the going was pretty smooth. Montana is a beautiful state. Its very large & has LOTS of mountains (hence, the name). Winding our way through the mountains was a nice ride. Of course, I'm always on the lookout for signs, wildlife & scenery. Here's a few pics I took along the way

Once we passed the Yellowstone River, we caught back up with the Missouri River and followed it a long time crossing over it many times along the way

I love the colors
You see this sign!
Didn't see any, but you know I was looking
Another beautiful pic of the Missouri River
No Big Horns, but here's lots of wooly sheep
Look at the view coming down
There's the Missouri River again
A reminder at the rest area

Only the Lord knows what tomorrow holds, but I sure am thankful Mr. Charley hasn't kicked me out yet. I'm sure its because Cheyenne & Sadie like me, and I pay my way, but I'm going to keep on riding as long as he lets me.

RV riding is taking lots of pics & sharing some of the best ones along the way

  1. Hope your border crossing is as easy as our's was. Once you go through the border there will be a pull off by the Welcome to Alberta sign so you can take a picture.
