Had a little scare but then what a great surprise

Osens RV Campground – Livingston, MT

We left Rocker this morning on our way to Livingston, MT. Livingston is about 25 miles from Bozeman, for Mr.Charley’s eye shot this Friday.
The ride was nice, weather was sunny and bright; sky was still smoky from the wildfires, but it wasn’t smoky smelling so that was good.
Here’s some pics from the ride, forgive the smoky sky, but just imagine how majestic the land is:

I am always trying to keep my eyes peeled when we’re riding (as I’m sure you’ve figured out by now). I look at the scenery, look for wildlife, read the signs and keep a peak at the traffic. While we were riding today, I saw a big animal in the distance and it wasn’t a cow or horse (which is what we’ve been seeing), it was black but not huge like a bear, it looked like a BIG CAT! By the time my brain registered that is was a BIG CAT (like a panther), it was too late to get a picture. My mind kept rewinding to be sure what I thought I saw is what I saw (we are going 60+ MPH), but Mr.Charley saw it too, so I know what I thought I saw is what I really saw.
Now for the scare we had today……We made a rest stop along the way pulling off to a turnout along the highway to let the girls get out & stretch. Well, nosey Cheyenne will always ‘wander’ around & track whatever scent she picks up on. She doesn’t go far, she just loves to be “nosey” and see what’s out there. Well, this time she was wandering through some high prairie grass and when she came back out to load up, she kept shaking her head like something was in her ear. When I tried to look & see if she had anything in there (like a bug or something) she yelped like it hurt her. We looked and looked and couldn’t see anything, but she kept shaking her head to get it out. Well, long story short, we were about an hour away from Livingston, so I Googled to see if there was a Vet in town. There was quite a few,  but I found one near the campground we were heading to. When I called to see if they take ‘walk-ins’ and explained what was wrong her first question was “has she been wandering through prairie grass?”. I was so impressed that she figured that out without me telling her that I told her we were on the way & would be there in an hour or so. She said no problem,  bring her in around 3 & they’ll look at her. Once we landed, Mr.Charley took her over there, they had to knock her out since she wouldn’t let them get it, but they took out 2 little “feathers” from the grass & cleaned out her other ear. She’s fine now and has some drops to put in for the next few days. Bless her heart, she sure was pitiful trying to clear her head.
And now for the great surprise…… Since we decided we would head back home earlier than planned, we cancelled plans to go to Yellowstone. Well, on the way back from dinner, Mr.Charley had mentioned we must not be too far from Yellowstone since there were so many signs about it. Would you believe that Livingston, MT is only about 50+ miles to Gardiner, MT. another entrance into Yellowstone! So, guess where we’re going tomorrow! Yep, early morning ROAD TRIP!
So, it’s been another long, but great day. Good weather, safe travels, bypassing wildfires, Cheyenne is OK and we’re going to Yellowstone! I’m blessed and thankful.
Have a good one everybody, we’re sure trying to.

RV Riding is taking it all in and always finding a blessing in the end
