One of the advantages of traveling with Mr. Charley is the opportunity to stay in campgrounds on military bases across the US. We've stayed in FamCamps for all branches of the military (army, navy, etc), but we've never been on a National Guard Base (and in reality had no idea there was any). Since Mr. Charley is retired Army National Guard, this base holds a special meaning.
The base is nice, clean and quiet compared to others we've stayed at. The campground is small (about 18 sites), but well maintained, nice size sites and lots of room for the girls to run.
Another plus to this base is FREE laundry! There's also a lot of deer, fox and rabbits.
Here's a few pics of the deer:
This fawn was laying in the grass when I was walking the girls. Her mama was on the other side of the fence
Yeah, she's peeing
They also have a Montana Military Museum. With all the chaos going on in the world, I wish some of the idiots out there would take the opportunity to visit some military museums and/or cemeteries just so they can learn that the freedom of speech they have was not free. If things keep going, wait until Native Americans rise and take their land back. But, enough of that......here's some cool insights to this museum.
This is the first (and only) base that flies not only the US Flag, but the Canadian flag, too.
The 1st Special Service Force, known as the Devil's Brigade was a joint WWII American-Canadian commando unit trained at Fort Harrison.
This is a small museum, but it houses the history of US military back to the 1800's up to today.
This was made by the Boy Scouts earning their Eagle Scout rank, in honor of the Native American soldiers who gave their life in during the war. Some of the dog tags represent POW/MIA, as well.
There was complete sections on Nazis & WWII, Agent Orange & Vietnam, Women in the Military and so much more. I wish my brain could remember all I saw & read.
God Bless the USA for all our faults and failures, I'll leave you with this pic:
And when you don't, women will, because someone has to protect our babies.
Have a good one everybody, we're sure trying to.
RV Riding is learning how blessed you are to be alive and live in freedom
