The 2 Lazy H RV Campground – Rocker, MT
Yesterday, Sunday, August 20, 2017 was my 62nd birthday.I’ve waited a long time to turn 62. I am now eligible for the National Park Sr .Pass. The lifetime access to all National Parks and other things) for $10. The reason I’m so excited is, the price goes up to $80 on August 28! Thanks Mom & Dad for NOT having me 9 days later! All joking aside, that was one plus to turning 62. The other is I am now eligible to begin collecting my hard earned Social Security. My first check should be deposited next month! That will really help!
Yesterday was bittersweet, too. All my babies were together in SC and I was here in Butte, MT. We’ve been gone on this “Grand Adventure” since early May. We’ve ridden over 13,000 miles during this time, and it’s been “an adventure”; but I think Mr. Charley and I are both missing our babies. They’re all getting big & we’ve missed a lot (birthdays, graduation, first day of school, sports, etc.) And, with my #1 daughter living in SC,and my #2 daughter living in Florida; getting all together isn’t easy. So, needless to say when they FaceTime & sang me “Happy Birthday” it was the highlight of my day.
This journey I’ve been on these past few years has been an exciting, humbling, learning, growing experience that has helped me to heal and grow stronger in this new chapter of life. I have been blessed to be able to travel with Mr.Charley. He has helped me to learn about the RV lifestyle, and encouraged me to know that I can do this alone, and for that I am very thankful.
As it stands now, we will be heading home sooner than originally planned, and should make it there by Mr.Charley’s birthday (he’ll be 70, Nov 1, in case you wanted to know).
Well, enough of that!
Today is the Eclipse of 2017! Here in Butte, it’s pretty smoky out due to the wildfires burning, and although it did get a little “darker” out there, and a little cooler, it was nothing spectacular. Other than that, there really isn’t a lot here. We did a drive through yesterday and didn’t really find anything that interested us. We’ve spent the time here just reading and relaxing. Tomorrow we head to Livingston, MT; right outside of Bozeman. Mr. Charley’s eye shot is Friday, then we’ll leave Sunday, the 27th and head back to Fort Harrison in Helena, to get us through Labor Day week. After that,we can travel back easier with all the summer crowds gone.
I’ll leave you with these awesome pics of the eclipse my babies sent from SC:
Have a good one everybody, we’re sure trying to.
RV Riding is a bittersweet yet rewarding opportunity for those willing to ride
