Whitehorse, YT- Yukon Transportation Museum and the Worlds Largest Weathervane

The World’s Largest Weather Vane is an original Canadian Pacific Airlines DC-3 passenger plane mounted so perfectly on a pedestal at the Whitehorse International Airport that the slightest breeze causes it to swing around to point into the wind.
Check it out: It slowly pivots with the breeze. It only takes a 4-5 knot wind to turn her)

We also toured the Yukon Transportation museum housing all forms of transportation used from snowshoes to moose skin boats to dog sleds, stage coaches, aircraft & old military vehicles.
Here’s some pics: (Notice it just happens to sit at Historic Mile 917 of the Alcan Hwy)

My Daddy would’ve loved these model boats and the  train set:

I love these old trucks & planes:

That was one tough generation to have accomplished so much, with so little, in such conditions. Thank God for them!

There’s more, but you get the picture (no pun intended).

The weather here is crazy. It goes from cold (mid 30’s) in the morning & cloudy, damp, rainy to sunny warm highs upper 50’s –60’s. Layering is key to dressing each day.

Mr.Charley is going to pull out the grill tonight (since the wind died down) and make some of his awesome grilled pork chops. (yummm)

Have a good one everybody! We sure are!

RV Riding is taking it in & enjoying the ride no matter what the weather is!
