We hung out in Anchorage for a few days, waiting for Mr. Charley’s eye shot.We stayed at Black Spruce RV Campground, a FamCamp in Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson (JBER), Fort Richardson, Alaska. A nice size full hookup site with a large “yard” (woods) for the girls to chase squirrels & rabbits in. There was a lot of “other” wildlife activity by the looks of the scat piles out there, but we didn’t physically see anything else near our site.
While driving around the base, we did see a Mama Moose & her two babies. Mr. Charley was smart enough to take a video & posted it on Facebook, but I can’t do videos in this blog, so I’ll just post some of the pics I took.
Here’s the babies
Here’s the mama…see her coat shedding
She was nice enough to let us take her pic
But then it was time for them to move on
We took care of things (laundry, propane, etc.); went out to dinner with Anne & Briggs a few times, then we were ready to move on. We decided to ride the Seward Highway to Seward for a few days before heading back over towards Anderson by the end of the month. Although the ride to Seward wasn’t that long, it was nice riding along mountains, glaciers & LOTS of water into the Kenai Peninsula.
Here’s some pics along the way:

I thought this was cool, it’s sculptures of Kaluga whales to help identify what they look like out in the water. (Didn’t see any)

Then it was time to keep riding
It’s hard to tell where the clouds end & the glacier start

Have a good one everybody! I am (but I sure do miss my babies)
Although it was cloudy & rainy, it was a nice ride. I’m hoping to go fishing or on a glacier/sea life tour while we’re here. We’re scheduled to be here for 3 or 4 days, so we’ll see what we see.
For some reason, my Verizon cell service is only 3G here. I never understood the differences (3G, 4G, LTE) but I can tell you 3G is MUCH SLOWER than LTE! So we’ll see how hard it is to post this.
RV Riding is sharing the ride with your loved ones in your heart
