Anchorage

My apologies (again), as it’s been a while since I’ve written. It’s not that we’ve been so busy, I’m just slack. Since retiring it is really hard for me to even think about logging onto a computer; and by the time I upload and edit my pictures I’ve had enough.
If you remember in my last post, we got back to Anchorage earlier than planned to get the slides fixed. We took advantage of additional Anchorage time to explore the town & the base.
Of course, the ride back from Seward wasn’t all that bad, as you can see from these pics:

When we got back to Fort Richardson, we were very happy there was a full hookup site left. It wasn’t the same site we had before, but the girls were real happy they had the woods back.
This is the absolute best campground in Alaska, so far

Not all, but some of the bases we stay at have a National Cemetery; so I usually ask Mr. Charley if we can ride to see it. For me, it’s a very humbling sight. I am so thankful for the freedoms we have and recognize that freedom isn’t free. I guess touring Pearl Harbor with my Dad really brought it home. That was the first time I ever saw him shed a tear.
Here’s a few pics and if this doesn’t move you, then you need to move somewhere else:

Then we took a day or so wandering downtown Anchorage. Nothing great, big tourist city and a few cool things to see. I couldn’t talk Mr. Charley into sharing a reindeer dog from the street vendor, but I do plan on trying reindeer to see if it’s as good as it’s cousins in the South.
We had Purple Cow ice cream shop in Miami, in Alaska they have Purple Moose

Gotta love the signs

We hung out for a few days and then started our trek to Denali before our meet up in Anderson.
Have a good one everybody! We’re sure trying to.

RV Riding is checking it out but happy to sit back and chill no matter where you parked it
