They took us on a great ride to see the waterfalls, glaciers and waterfront.
Valdez, is a former Gold Rush town, and is located at the head of a fjord on the eastern side of Prince William Sound. It suffered huge damage during the 1964 Alaska earthquake, and is located near the site of the disastrous Exxon Valdez oil tanker spill. Today it is a commercial fishing port as well as a freight terminal. The oil from the Trans-Alaska pipeline is loaded onto ships at the Valdez oil terminal. Sightseeing of marine life and glaciers, and deep-sea fishing tours support the tourist industry in Valdez. We were going to take the tour too see the glaciers & marine life, but the weather is rainy cold & I didn’t want to get out on that water in this. I’ll wait until we get to Seward or Homer.
Here’s some cool pics!
After riding through Thompson Pass permafrost on the way in, I didn’t get a good pic of this sign until yesterday.
Here’s some pics from the beautiful waterfalls located on Richardson Hwy in Keystone Canyon
I believe this is Horsetail Falls (328 ft) flows into the Lowe River
This is Bridal Veil Falls (400 ft)
I think this is one of the waterfalls we saw at the Worthington Glacier
Here’s some pics of the glaciers & if you look close to the right you can see waterfalls
See the pretty blue!
Check these out!
And here’s some pics of the harbor & town
This was posted at the fish marketThese street lights minded me of the Hershey Kiss ones in Hershey PA

From the looks of this sign, they must really have a time with bears when the salmon come in (we’re just too early!)
That’s it for now, we’ll see what today brings. The weather isn’t terrible right now, started out rainy, but right now it’s super cloudy & 39 degrees.
Mr. Charley just finished washing the rig, the girls are napping in their warm beds & I’m on this dang computer! Maybe we can go Geocache today! There’s supposed to be about a dozen ‘easy ones’ in Valdez. My bum ankle just won’t let me hike too far, but we’ll see!
Have a good one everybody!
RV Riding is seeing what you can when you can and trying to keep it all straight!
