It’s always something

Our plans were to stay in Seward until Sunday, come back to Anchorage for a day (we’ve got some mail being sent here), before heading to Denali before our Loosey Goosey meet up in Anderson.
That WAS the plan, but one thing about RV’ing is either don’t make plans or make them in Jell-O.

When we left Anchorage heading to Seward, we had a time getting the slides in. We’re still using the remote only (even though we did get the new part we’re still using the remote). We figured it was due to 30 amp hookup in Black Spruce that kept popping off & flipping some breakers. Anyway, once we got into Seward, everything worked fine, so we figured the batteries had recharged & all’s well.
This morning when we were unhooking & getting ready to go, the remote would start bringing the slide in, then quit. We waited a few minutes, tried again & it worked, then cut off. Baring teeth smile  Mr. Charley tried everything and we figured the brand new batteries we bought in Florida must not be good anymore & we needed new ones. Even though he tested them & they looked fine, Charley unhooked them, & set off to the NAPA store. That wasn’t it, the batteries were good,  but the guy told Charley to connect jumper cables from truck to posts  & see if that would bring them in. Well, sure enough, that got the slides in!  So, as we were heading to the other campground up the road, we decided the smart thing to do is head back to Anchorage since it’s a bigger city in case we need help.

We got back in to Black Spruce in Fort Richardson, and nothing works (not even battery operated lights) Annoyed

Well, long story short…….we called a few places, got a fella on the phone who sounded like he knew how to help & we set off to find his place.

Batteries are good, remote is good, no fuses blown, no wires loose, but…… there’s a breaker in the front (near the batteries) that was blown. He called, had the part delivered (within the hour) and charged us less than $100! We got back to Black Spruce, got set-up in no time & all is well. Winking smile

We’ll hang here through the weekend, get our mail Monday & head to Denali Tuesday. (we hope)

And, the girls are happy ….they have a nice “yard” to play in & watch those squirrels.

And…..there was a pile of moose poop nuggets (BWAHAHAHAHAH)

Have a good one everybody! Hopefully, we will too…. Oh! And… I have great cell service so I can post this blog!

RV Riding is like riding on the back of a Harley…. you hang on & do a lot of praying but loving the ride
