From Fairbanks back towards Anchorage & Denali

Mr.Charley and I decided we’d had enough fun in Fairbanks, so we started our trek back to Anchorage. The ride back was uneventful (thank God), although rounding one curve some idiot almost plowed into us, coming awful close to Mr. Charley’s side mirror. The scenery was majestic on this clear early morning. Hopefully, you’re enjoying these sights as much as we are.
Cloudy but still a nice sunrise over Fairbanks

There’s a stretch on the Parks Highway that gives a glimpse of Mount McKinley (Mt. Denali) in the distance. Check it out!

And then we made it to Trapper Creek. We were pretty early getting there and had to wait for our site, but that’s OK we hooked up with some of the other Loosey Goosey folks & chit chatted awhile. We had plenty of time for a nap before Happy Hour, and had a good visit.
We are learning that asking for a “Full Hookup, Pull-thru site” doesn’t always mean we can just pull thru and stay hooked up to the truck for the night. We got setup & level, but had to unhook the truck. The sites here (as with most Alaska campgrounds) are VERY TIGHT!  We got the slides opened, but it was pretty tight to get the hookups. Mr. Charley decided the smartest thing to do in the morning is hookup the truck & back out rather than try to make a God-awful turn out. Smart choice…..and we ended up using their dump site rather than drain the tanks at our site.
Have a good one everybody, we’re trying to.

RV Riding is always deciding the best way to maneuver your rig because “it’s an adventure”
