Even though we won't be leaving until Monday, I'm saying my final goodbyes to my #1 daughter & her family today😥 She's a nurse & with that comes crazy work schedules, so I won't be seeing her again before we leave. I've had a glorious few days with my with her, my #1 son-in-law, my #1 granddaughter, my grandson & my great-granddaughter! I've talked with my baby girl & her baby girl (who's starting middle school next year 😲) and can't express how full my heart is. I hope this blog allows them to "ride along " on this wonderful new adventure.
Mr Charley & I have a few more things to get & do before we hook up & hit the road but it's getting so close now it's getting more real.
I am so blessed. Hope everyone has a great day!
Rv riding is saying lots of goodbyes & hellos ☺️

T minus 7 and counting
1 week from yesterday. Next Monday, 05/01/2017 Mr Charley & I will be heading out on our next Great Adventure - Alaska!
We've been planning things, making lists of things to do, things to get, things to remember, reading about things to see, things to do, researching, checking off, trying to remember EVERYTHING!
The hardest thing I've had to learn in this RV lifestyle is to quit planning EVERYTHING & just enjoy the ride. There are some things to plan for, but it's more day by day things (how far to drive, where to stay, etc). You don't have to map out the entire route, make reservations, plan out every meal, etc.
I was a Systems Analyst, a working woman with kids, the caregiving child , I HAD to out think EVERYTHING, so I could stay 1 step ahead of it all. Mr Charley is just the opposite. He knows what needs to be done, does it, then asks me what else he needs to do. LOL ;)
He's been doing this a lot longer than I have and he knows to make plans in jello just in case you want to stay another day, or something happens along the way. And when I get frustrated with him, I take a deep breath and say "I want to travel" and then we go back to what ever needs to get done or add it to the list.
So we're down to the last week. The final days of our countdown to Alaska. I'm sure there's things we haven't thought about, but I know we'll handle it because this is a once in a lifetime adventure! And....."I want to travel"
Rvriding is making lists, & doing what you want anyway

Getting closer to Alaska time !
We've been home from our winter in Florida for a couple of weeks now, visiting our kids & grands. My #1 daughter, grandson & I went to Myrtle Beach for a few days & had a great time.
Although I'm staying in my motorhome, I still haven't "opened it up" yet. I have reservations for tomorrow thru Sunday at Palmetto Shores RV Resort in Summerton, near Santee. This will give me a chance to drive it and open it up. Mr Charley & the girls may come down a couple days & I'm hoping my #1 granddaughter & great granddaughter will come down at the end of the week with my daughter & grandson. I've never stayed here before, but it looks like a pretty cool place with swimming pool , lazy river, and fishing. We'll see.
Today I'm heading over to Mr Charley's place. He's going to cool seal the roof & I'm going to clean up inside & hopefully shampoo the carpet. Just a couple more items to check off the list before we head out on our Alaska trip May 1.
RV riding is enjoying the down time while getting ready for the next adventure!
